I was born and raised in Mumbai, India. I did my Masters in Biotechnology from University of Mumbai. I worked as a Lecturer teaching Microbiology in College as well as tutoring school students in Science and Maths subjects. Soon after getting married, I moved with my husband to Oxford, UK. We lived in Oxford for over six years before moving to Melbourne and then to Canberra.

During my time in UK, I started my career as a Laboratory technician in University of Oxford and then became a Research Technician and worked on research projects that involved translational haematology work on the development of the use of regulatory T cells for the therapy of Graft Versus Host disease in patients following Bone Marrow Transplantation and Malaria research project which involved understanding the molecular and cellular pathogenesis of Plasmodium falciparum parasite.

After moving to Australia, I worked for Monash University for a while but had to stop due to limited funding for the research project that I was working on. I took a two year gap from my career, a maternity break to bring up and raise my now 8 year old son.

On returning back to workforce, I decided to change my career choice and secured a job in Research Services Administration at University of Canberra. I worked in different areas of the University including Faculty and Central offices, learning and gaining experience in various facets of University administration and rolling out University wide projects as well as business process improvement projects. These experiences helped me land my job here at Mount Stromlo and be part of the amazing RSAA administration team and the RSAA community.
