Outreach Update
Published in the RSAA Lunations
Vol1 Issue30 1–31 July 2022
Every month is getting busier for outreach! We had 379 students, ranging from year 3 all the way to year 12 from the following schools:
Ripponlea Primary School, St Kilda, VIC
Canberra Girls Grammar, Canberra
Abbotsleigh, Sydney
Our Lady of the Rosary, Sydney
Orana Steiner School, Canberra
St Mary's Primary School, Young, NSW
Calrossy Anglican School, Tamworth, NSW
The Coast Christian School, Central Coast, NSW
Pacific Brook Christian School, Muswellbrook, NSw
It is great that we are getting students from lots of regional areas in addition to other cities, and local schools!
Despite the clouds trying to ruin us, we still got in eight groups for private visitings, including a group of students from the AIAA branch of UNSW.
Thanks to PhD students Jonah Hansen, Neco Kriel, Raj Mohapartra (congrats on submitting Raj!), Maddie McKenzie, and Wei Shen Oh. We are also getting lots of great help from our undergraduate students in both Astronomy and Science Communication Amy Briggs, Alan Chan, Rhianna Lyons, Kelvin Meng, and Jess Ross.
Thanks as well to Pete Swanton and Maddie McKenzie for running an event for a conference delegation from the First Nations Wealth Forum.
July and August are going to be busier with exciting events planned for Science Week!
