School Manager's Update
Published in the RSAA Lunations
Vol1 Issue31 1–31 August 2022
Hello everyone,
We are now in August with only one month until spring.
Strategic projects
The admin team is developing a School strategic task list, with the aim of monitoring and administering various small and large projects. We will coordinate with School and external stakeholders as required and provide an update from time to time. If you have any interesting or worthwhile ideas that need to get off the ground, please come have a chat with either myself or the team.
WHS
We are continuing our WHS training/induction module campaign. This is compulsory for all staff and HDR students regardless of your start date. It is essential that we have a high completion rate before the WHS audit later in the year.
If you receive a targeted WHS email, this means your action is required. Please follow the instructions provided and let us know if you have any questions.
Occasionally completions are missed by the reporting system; we are working on a fix. If you have completed the required modules but have received a reminder, please reply with a screenshot of the completion notification/certificate. Some modules required the supervisor’s approval in HORUS.
Thank you to everyone for your help with this. I appreciate that it might be a little painful, but it will not go away until it is done. The Director and I will be following up on outstanding cases.
Completion rates as of July:
· Tier 1 – University WHS 79.75%
· Tier 2 – Local WHS 33.74%
· Tier 3 – High risk 11.90%
· Due Diligence <50%
Asset Stocktake
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week a representative from the ANU asset team will be visiting for the annual asset stocktake. We will be escorting our visitors around the MSO, to sight the assets.
Current only about 60% of our assets have the required identification tags attached, so we will be seeking to tag as we go. Some of our assets are aging/inoperative and are ready to be disposed of. We may reach out to you for further information on these.
Stay safe and talk soon,
Mat Malzacher
