School Manager's Update
Published in the RSAA Lunations
Vol1 Issue35 1–31 December 2022
Hello everyone.
This is the last Lunations for the year.
I would like to take the time to congratulate everyone on another successful year. In particular, thank you to everyone for looking out for one another and contributing to the RSAA community. Next year we will continue to grow and strengthen RSAA, with various social/community initiatives on our sites.
Sadly, we are all saying goodbye to Matthew on Friday as he walks out the door as Director one last time to start his exciting new journey. Once again, both personally and on behalf of the School, thank you Matthew for leading the School over the last 10 years!
We welcome and thank Naomi for kindly and bravely taking the controls for the next few months. Together will all do our best to support Naomi during this time.
As it stands, we close the year without a 2023 recurrent budget allocation. While we have considered various scenarios, I expect there will be some work to do in early January once the allocation is provided. I will be reaching out to the relevant parties in the School during this time.
Just a reminder that administratively the year is almost closed. Last chance to process any HR matters or financial payments. If you have anything urgent pending, please come and see me as soon as possible. RSAA will continue admin support to the end of the year, but we are subject to system and University cutoffs. Personally, I will commence leave sometime between the 11th-16th of December, returning on site first thing in January.
Lastly, I would like to thank the RSAA Admin Team and the Ground Crew for supporting School operations during this year. There is a huge amount of work taking place in the background, anything from mountains of paperwork, compliance, WHS, events, visits, purchasing, catering, student support, strategic projects and perhaps most importantly, snake wrangling.
Thank you to everyone, have a safe and relaxing shutdown (exact dates still to be announced) and see you all in the new year.
