Outreach Update

Vol1 Issue37 1–28 February 2023
Last year was pretty successful for outreach. Considering we lost months in the early part of the year to COVID weariness, and then the weather, it was super productive and we had nearly 6000 students visit for outreach activities!
In January, the weather finally cooperated and despite the late setting Sun, we were able to host lots of private nights! The nights were packed, with multiple groups per night, and most days of the week booked. It was great to do!
Outreach is already gearing up for a busy 2023. We have multiple school groups already coming in February, and most months have about 2 dozen school groups booked in. We will be resuming our Public Astronomy Nights, and a number of other special events - from stargazing at the Enlighten Festival, to viewings for partial solar eclipses, and more.
If you want to help out, add yourself to the outreach exploder via the RSAA phonebook. We’ll be doing some training and skill sessions in the next few months - so don’t worry about knowledge, just come if you are eager!
