Student writing retreat

The second annual RSAA student writing retreat was held in the third week of May at the Kioloa ANU coastal campus. We had 23 attendees from the student cohort join this year, working on their thesis proposals, papers, referee reports, and some writing their PhD theses amidst tranquil surroundings.

We had eight writing sessions spread out over the three-day retreat, with many social events organised during the evenings, including a retreat dinner in Kioloa town. We thank the Kioloa campus for hosting us this year, and a special thanks to Jonah for organizing trivia and the sky-watching session in the evenings. During our visit, we also had the chance to explore the nearby beaches and enjoy autumn on the NSW coast.
Beyond productive writing sessions, the retreat also provided everyone valuable bonding time with their student cohort, and the break from Canberra helped everyone rejuvenate their minds.
