Thank you for your enthusiastic participation in the IDEA Town Hall meeting held last month and for contributing to the discussion on numerous topics relevant to the culture and future of our institute. The insights from that discussion will serve as the basis for preparing the IDEA strategic plan for the next few years. The IDEA committee is also working to prepare a new culture survey to be deployed in the next few months to gauge the pulse of the institute. Additionally, we are in the process of arranging a new Mental Health First Aid training course. If you are interested in attending, please register your expression of interest using the following form. The training is currently scheduled for 2 July, and we will confirm the event if there is sufficient interest from participants.

Period care products are now available across different RSAA buildings: AITC 1 upper level, Duffield and Woolley upper levels, CSO building (near Cate’s desk). All products are hypoallergenic, made of biodegradable materials, with a 100% cotton core, and plant-based packaging. If you notice a need for more products, please do not hesitate to reach out to idea.rsaa@anu.edu.au.

We extend a warm welcome to a few new faces on our committee: Janet Tang and Jason Price as student representatives, and Angela Hernandez Delgado as a professional staff member. We eagerly anticipate your contributions to the IDEA space. Furthermore, we express our gratitude to previous members Madi McKenzie, Sarah Bradbury, and Jon Nielsen for their invaluable contributions over the past two years.

Lastly, we would like to inform you about the new leave options available for staff including Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Cultural Leave, Wellbeing Leave, Antenatal Leave, Community Volunteering Leave, Emergency Services Leave, and various others. Please refer to your HORUS profile for further details.
