The past month has again seen a range of recognition for RSAA researchers. Congratulations to Madeline McKenzie on the award of a prestigious Hubble Fellowship! Madeline will work at Carnegie Observatories where her fellowship will 'Uncover the Unknown Origins of Globular Clusters'. This is fantastic and well-deserved recognition for Madeline's thesis work. You can read the NASA Press Release here. Congratulations also to Sarah Bradbury has been selected to contribute to join 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, a prestigious annual international scientific forum, and to Katie Grasha who was profiled as one of Australia's top early Career scientists apart of the ARC's celebration of International Women's Day. You can read the very nice ARC article about Katie and her work here.
The start of this month saw the first of the events associated with the 100th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Commonwealth Solar Observatory. Naomi McClure-Griffiths presented an extremely interesting and well attended public talk on Revealing the Invisible Universe with the Square Kilometre Array, the first in a series. It will be a busy year of activities and we have a page listing the 100th anniversary events on the RSAA web page. We will be updating this with details about the MSO open day and September symposium in the coming days.
Please read on to learn about activities in what has been a busy month right across RSAA.
