Vol1 Issue52 1–30 June 2024

This month, the University published its third annual report on Sexual Misconduct Reports and Disclosures. You can read the report here on the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response webpage. With the release of this report, the University continues to meet the requirements of the Sexual Violence Prevention Strategy, which outlines the University’s long-term, evidence-based, and strategic approach to effectively prevent and respond to sexual violence.

The ANU Respectful Relationships Unit supports our communities to change the systems and cultures that drive sexual violence, fostering a safe and respectful campus, and we will invite them for more training on-site in the future. A pilot program for respectful relationships for HDR and supervisors is being developed. Originally planned for this semester, it will likely be launched next semester, with a few people from RSAA having volunteered to attend it.

A new guide to support students in distress is now available. Please refer to Contact and Support on our IDEA page for a list of university-wide support. Also, please note that the RSAA wellness room is now accessible again, but it has been relocated to the admin wing of the CSO building.

ANU has released the latest Workplace Gender Equality Report which provides a broad overview of policies and strategies in relation to gender equality, flexible work, and employee support. Please submit your feedback to the Staff Diversity team, staffdiversity@anu.edu.au  by close of business Friday 28 June 2024, or directly to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency.

You can also view the report of the College of Science tracking the efforts of each School to improve diversity according to the Equitable Hiring Strategy we developed last year.

Finally, following the success of last year, CoS community events will continue this year. Please stay tuned for the next get-together on campus!
