School Director Update
Published in the RSAA Lunations
Vol1 Issue61 1–30 April 2025
During March we developed draft responses to the RSAA School Review panel report. Following School feedback and discussion including through the April town hall, a set of responses and actions is now available on the School Reviews web page. Many thanks to those who provided input. I look forward to working with the School to implement these ideas and strategies.
A reminder that last month registration was opened for the 2025 ASA AGM and Harley Wood School (HWS). The AGM will be held at the University of Adelaide campus from Sunday July 6th (Reception) to Friday July 11th, and the HWS school will be held at Pt Elliot, a coastal village about 80km south of Adelaide from Thursday July 3rd to Sunday July 6th. See here for further details.
This month the University's annual academic promotion program was announced. Applications for the 2025 round close on 30 June 2025. There are a number of resources available on the Academic Promotions website. These include guidelines for applicants, application forms, and recordings of information sessions that provide practical information and advice. If you are seeking to make an application this year please consult with your supervisor. I am also happy to discuss.
We expect that there will also be a 2025 specialist promotion round (CoSM Specialist Career Progression Framework intranet), and will provide advice as soon as we have information on timing.
Each month we see great new news and stories come from the work being done by RSAA people, with the work on Music of starquakes by Claudia Reyes being the most recent example. To keep highlighting work within and beyond the School I encourage everyone to make your work known. To make this easier, Cristy has developed a web form which can be used to provide material needed. Link to RSAA Stories Form.
This link will be reposed in each issue of lunations. Please use this link to let us know about the great work coming from RSAA!
