HDR Update

Firstly, a belated congratulations to last year’s HDR student prize recipients:
- Hayden Park and Ethan Crosby for the best annual review talk,
- Sarah Bradbury, Ethan Crosby, and Isaac Kanowski with the Joan Duffield Research Award,
- Qianhui Chen and Hilay Shah with the Olin J Eggen Research Award,
- Erin Holdorf with the Peter McGregor Supplementary Scholarship.
The background for the delay in announcing the prizes was that we had to make changes to the Conditions of Award of these prizes last year, and those had to be done before we were able to release the most recent awards. The changes are now completed — please see details here:
Peter McGregor Supplementary Scholarship:
A couple of quick reminders: this year’s annual review talks, coordinated by the TOC, will be held 25 Aug – 29 Aug, and the Confirmation of Candidature (CoC), for students in their 1st year, will likely be held in November. I will send more information on this over the next few weeks. Most importantly, all new students need to prepare a thesis proposal to be submitted a few weeks beforehand. All important information on the CoC can be found in our student info book on the intranet.
