Outreach Update

As part of Science Week, we ran activities as part of Science in the Centres - building and launching paper rockets in the Canberra Centre and Majura.  We also had extra visits to several schools and supported events across Canberra and Australia.

In addition to Science Week, we had 25 school groups with over 800 students visit in August.  September will see even more schools than August, and lots of private groups are booked in!  Unfortunately August's bad weather meant though our two public nights were rained out. At least we had a clear night at Mulligans Flat!  Our final public night of the year will be Friday 26 September.

After the success of our Winter School Holiday program, we will run it again in the 1st week of the next school holidays - the last week of September.  We had a lot of lessons learned from it and are looking forward to the next one.

We will also be at Floriade at the end of the month running some programs. On the Floriade note, if you are doing the Gnome trail, you might recognise one of the locations is here at Stromlo :). So if you want to get started, you can tick off your first one.  See the picture for a clue :)

Hopefully September is a clearer month for us!
