School Director's Update

I am delighted to report on the successful promotions of 4 colleagues. Congratulations to Giada Casali, Giacomo Cordoni, Chong Chong He and Van Hiep Nguyen who have all been promoted to level B. These promotions are in recognition of excellent research and mentoring and are very well deserved in each case! Processes for promotions to levels C-E and for specialist colleagues are ongoing. 

Last Friday I attended the conference on campus discussing recommendations from the Nixon Review. This was a very positive day with staff and students working together to provide practical recommendations that can be implemented across the University.

Thank you to all those who contributed to our first two strategy sessions on delivering a student experience equal to the world's best and conducting research that transforms society and creates national capability. We have 2 more sessions in the coming weeks.

November 7: Being a standard-bearer for equity and inclusion
November 20: Strengthening our national mission and meeting our unique responsibilities
 
Each discussion will be held 1.30pm-3.30pm in the CSO common room.

Finally we have set a date for the end of year BBQ, which will be on the afternoon of the 13th December. More details to follow.
