Science operations at SSO stopped on March 26, and apart from a small team doing essential maintenance and checks, we are working from home. In these unusual and challenging times, the 7:55am SSO briefing is as important as ever, serving the dual purpose of keeping everyone informed and allowing some lighter moments. Here is a contribution from Daniel Cotton and SSO. Many of you who were growing up in the 70s may recognise some of the words. For those that did not, here is a hint.
Here's the story
Of group of people
Who were busy working underneath a dome
Each day,
They maintained a telescope
Something none of them could do alone
It's the story
Of a Corona virus
That decided to take humans as its host
Some of them,
Travelled to Australia
And the virus began to spread from the coast
Until the one day when the ANU went into lockdown
And the politicians had the same hunch
So now we're isolated from friends and family
and having these Zoom meetings a whole bunch
A whole bunch, a whole bunch
And we're having these Zoom meetings far too much
That's the way we became the SSO Bunch
