 The Australian National University (ANU) and the ANU Institute for Space (InSpace) marked World Space Week, 4-10 October, with a suite of virtual events to showcase how ANU researchers are looking to create innovative solutions for Australia as we shift to meet the changing world standards for space-based economies and help to grow our national space capability.

Industry outreach to shape global space policy

Part of our work at ANU InSpace is to help ANU experts shape international and national space policies by participating in advisory groups across the globe and in Australia. Here are some of the panels our Mission Specialists are on:

The Australian Space Industry Leaders Forum The Global Future Council on Space, part of the World Economic Forum The North American Treaty Organization SCI-279-TG activity on Space Domain Awareness Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems optical communication standards working group

We now have nine Mission Specialists on Australian Space Agency (ASA) Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) to help develop 10-year, national roadmaps including those for Space Situational Awareness, Space Medicine and Life Sciences, Advanced Communication and Earth Observation.
