Sustainability Committee

In the last few weeks, the Sustainability Committee has started a new pilot programme for recycling in lower Duffield. A collection point has been set up for various hard-to-recycle items that will then be sent on to TerraCycle. Although this is just meant as a pilot scheme for the students in order to gauge interest, anyone is welcome to drop off their old razors, toothpaste tubes & toothbrushes, pens, and a range of other things. A full list is up by the kitchen in Duffield, and feel free to send me any questions (philip.1.taylor@anu.edu.au).

Now that we have a regular coffee van coming to the site (thanks Cristy!) you can also drop off your disposable coffee cups (or any disposable paper-based cup!), lids, and plastic straws in the same collection point in lower Duffield. Just remember to give them a rinse first!

In food waste news, Duffield has now overtaken Possum Hall! We'll have to wait and see if Possum Hall can retake its crown once COVID restrictions are lifted...
