To start with some exciting news: the Mount Stromlo Observatory outreach team were finalists in the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Impact and Engagement! Thanks to everyone who has been involved in outreach this year. It’s been a little difficult but through our combined efforts we’ve reached several hundred thousand people from all across the world and from all different ages. I think we’ve done an incredible job despite the limitations of this year.
Over the past month, we have successfully delivered online outreach sessions to four schools in NSW and Victoria, reaching over 180 year 5 and 6 students.
We are also continuing our Sunday Space with the Canberra Times:
Tony Travouillon talked about the VRO and the exciting science it has ahead.
PhD student Jonah Hansen explained just how cold space is.
RSES PhD student Geoff Bonning previewed the Hayabusa2 mission.
Amit Seta talked about all things magnetism in space.
