InSpace hosts the Standing Committee on Industry, Innovation, Science and Resources

On Friday, 19 March, InSpace hosted members of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Industry, Innovation, Science and Resources, chaired by Hon Barnaby Joyce MP.  He was joined by Hon Sharon Bird MP, Dr Katie Allen MP, and Mr Pat Conaghan MP as they enjoyed a tour of the National Space Test Facility.

The committee requested the meeting with the ANU InSpace team after receiving the submission that InSpace wrote on behalf of space researchers across ANU. This submission was the focus of the robust discussion about Australia's future in space led by Prof Anna Moore and Prof Matthew Colless.

InSpace welcomed the opportunity to show them how ANU is supercharging Australia's space capability, and in turn, the committee asked us to submit our thoughts on what we would do if “we were in charge of the government for a day.” We are currently answering that question with the input of InSpace Mission Specialists from across the university. Those comments will help to inform the committee’s final report, due out later this year.
