Outreach Update

Published in the RSAA Lunations
Vol1 Issue15 1–30 April 2021

We are happy to say school visits are back!  It is great to be able to host schools from around Australia!  Thanks to the work of the ACT government and Aspen Medical, interstate schools have a very strict protocol for visiting attractions as part of their Canberra visit. It has meant that schools are in rapid numbers coming back to Canberra and this has allowed us an easy, effective, and safe path to taking them again. The bookings and requests are coming from all over!

Thanks to students Jonah Hansen, Raj Mophrata, Wei Shen Oh, Adam Rains, as well as former CPAS interns Staci Pearlman and Lachlan Reichstein,  and CAS members Craig Collins and John Morland for helping with the first incoming groups.

Private nights are also going through the sky (pun intended) with over 50 requests for private stargazing nights in April alone!  Now if the weather will cooperate, we can actually show them something other than of clouds.

If you would like to get involved, email outreach@mso.anu.edu.au or sign-up to the list (navigate your way to your entry in the RSAA phonebook and sign-up to the outreach list).
