Director's Message
Dear Colleagues,
Many thanks for the active discussion at Forum this week. Important stuff and good for me to hear.
Your Heads will be discussing 3-6-9’s with you shortly with the aim to present them over the next 2 months. Please refer to the links from this section in the 17th Event Horizon (19th May) for details. I’m hoping to see where Grand Challenges proposals and Frontiers might span across several 3-6-9s.
This week’s happy picture comes from Cormac Corr and shows Cormac with a bunch of his friends playing soccer beside the castle he rented for his recent 40th birthday party. The castle dates from 1280 and is located in South West Ireland.
Enjoy the weekend.
Tim
PS. Don’t forget to review your projects for the Market Day Booklet. See below. |

To quota or not to quota
from Women on Boards
The release earlier this month of the AICD’s most recent gender diversity report indicates that their PR campaign to increase female representation on ASX 200 boards to achieve 30% is far from over. which again is hardly surprising as, to realise this modest target, well-qualified and credentialled men are going to have to get off boards for equally qualified and credentialled women to get a gig. » read more

ORCID
ANU encourages all researchers, including PhD students, academic staff and research-active professional staff, to register for an ORCID identifier and share your iD with us to assist in your research career.
This is a way to ensure that research information is attributed to the correct person and will eventually help with things like HERDC returns. Many publishers are also putting ORCID numbers into authorship lists of papers, so registering is really a no-brainer.
Training sessions
Training is available from the ANU Library including tailored presentations and general sessions.
