Acting Director's Message
Dear Colleagues,
This week there are some special highlights in Physics to report.
- Congratulations to Daniel Leykam – formerly of the Nonlinear Physics Centre – for winning the 2017 Australian Institute of Physics Bragg Gold Medal for his thesis titled, “Wave and spectral singularities in photonic lattices”. Well done Daniel – and best of luck for the future in your new position at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
- The Physics Makerspace also featured prominently in the news this week, having played a key role in designing and producing the newly unveiled Australian of the Year trophies (see Stuart Hays' photo above). Congratulations to John Debs, Ella Sayers and the team.
And finally a reminder about two events coming up:
Best wishes,
Ken Baldwin Acting Director
