Director's Message

Dear Colleagues,

This week’s pic shows one of our longest serving technical staff members, our WHS Officer Anthony Hyde, receiving his 40 year service recognition from the Vice Chancellor.  Please congratulate Anthony when you see him next.

On Monday 11th the ANU Family Friendly Committee will be launching an initiative to better support breast-feeding mothers on campus.  Our Andrea Bulter has played an enormous role is getting this started and you are invited to the launch (please RVSP via this link

My congratulations go to Dr. Dhruv Saxena from EME, in winning the Springer Thesis Award for his work titled ‘Design and Characterisation of III-V Semiconductor Nanowire Lasers’.

As many will know some of our long serving staff will leave the School on the Voluntary Early Retirement Scheme.  Although local areas will be farewelling their staff, the School will also honour their commitment with a traditional School plate, this year skilfully turned by Ilya Shadrivov.  This special School morning tea will be held on Wednesday 13th December.

All the best for the weekend,

Tim
