Director's Message
Dear Colleagues,
Our congratulations go to Daniel Schauries (EME) for receiving a Springer Thesis Award for his PhD. This annual award recognises students internationally for their outstanding contributions. This week’s pic recognises another great student win. Congratulations to Toby Hendy on winning the semi-finals in the recent Famelab stage in Melbourne (see below). Keep your fingers crossed for her on the 10th May at the National finals.
Many thanks to the Heads for their 3-6-9 presentations last week. They were a brilliant summary of the research and education strengths in our School. Martin Conway has posted the presentations on the intranet and this offers a good chance for you to develop your PDR with your supervisor. All PDRs are to be complete within the next month so please start this as soon as you can. School PDR guidelines can be found on the intranet. You are also requested to log-on to Insight and check your publications, grants and teaching data. Together with the 3-6-9s they are an essential part of our School Review in September.
The picture at the bottom shows Professor Jagadish receiving his Nayudamma Award, mentioned in last week’s Event Horizon.
Have a good week,
Tim |
