Director's Message
Dear Colleagues,
The winners of this year’s Grand Challenges have just been announced, and my congratulations go to Prof Ken Baldwin for leading the team on “Delivering zero-carbon energy to Asia Pacific”. It is wonderful to see physics again a key part of this fantastic cross-campus program.
This week’s picture shows Michael Blacksell in France presenting the Director General of the ITER Organization with a boomerang. ITER is one of the most ambitious energy projects even undertaken and Michael is in the middle of it for the next 4 months, where he’ll contribute his engineering expertise to an ANU-lead project employing diagnostics developed by Em/Prof John Howard’s group.
Founder’s Day Director's awards close this Friday. Please submit a brief nomination for your favourite person or team, at RSPE or on campus, who work above and beyond by the end of this week.
The biennial Voice Survey is under way. You will have received a personalised email to complete this survey, please use only the link within that email. To help you search for the email it will have come from “Voice Project on behalf of ANU <ben.eastment@voiceproject.com>" on or around Monday 17th September. This is an important survey and many universities now rely on it for comparisons around the sector. Our VC is very keen to have our feedback back the end of this week.
Have a great week,
Tim |
