Director's Message

Good morning colleagues,

Many of you are likely to be attending the Australian Geoscience Council Convention in Adelaide this week.  It promises to be an important meeting with a strong focus on the future,  including release of the Academy of Science’s Decadal Plan for Geoscience.

If you happen to be in Adelaide please consider attending the launch of Brian Kennett’s new book this evening.

Unfortunately I am unable to make it to the meeting but will be attending the AuScope workshop events on Thursday evening and Friday.  The AuScope workshop aims to delineate no less than the national infrastructure needed to support the next decade of geoscience research in Australia. If you have any thoughts on this topic and the School’s role please feel free to pass them on so they might be raised at the meeting.

Finally, a heads up for an important announcement that will occur during the week that reflects on the research excellence achieved at and by our School.

Best wishes

Steve
