Dear Colleagues,
What a week! I am relieved that no one was injured in the hailstorm.
I would like to thank Graeme, Simon, Pat and Andrew for working tirelessly during the week to ensure our buildings and labs are made safe. Thanks is also extended to James for leading and coordinating the School's effort with Central Area.
Naturally with so much damage of infrastructure located on rooftops, the process of bringing all affected facilities back online will take some time. Be rest assured that we are working to open up the affected labs ASAP, and if safe to do so.
Please continue to observe and obey all signage, and report any problems/issues that we may have missed. We will keep you updated on the progress of each affected lab. Thank you all for your patience.

In 2019, the Australian Government Workplace Gender Equality Agency commissioned a report looking at leading practices in gender equitable recruitment and promotion. The report concludes that gender bias creates inequalities at every stage of the employment cycle. Gender-based stereotypes affect which candidates get recruited for certain roles and which do not, which candidates get selected for those roles and why, how salaries are negotiated, how managers provide feedback to their employees, and which employees receive career development opportunities and career encouragement and which do not. It also provides evidence-based suggestions for creating more equitable recruitment and promotion systems. » read more
