Vale Dr David Weisser

The School is saddened to hear that Dr David Weisser passed away this morning.

During his long association with ANU as Accelerator Manager in the Department of Nuclear Physics, David played an enormous role in developing the 14UD and Linac accelerators, as well as beamline instrumentation that we rely on today.  He was greatly respected around the world, and was in demand as a consultant for overseas accelerator laboratories.

Electronic Materials Engineering (EME)
Dr Azzuliani Supangat (University of Malaya) who is visiting Prof Hoe Tan until the 31st July.
Mr Tzu-Chiao (Samuel) Wei visiting PhD student (National Taiwan University). Samuel is working with Prof Jagadish for the next 7 months on non-linear effect in perovskite crystals.
Mr Dipankar Chugh a new PhD student with Prof Hoe Tan, who has joined us from University of SA and is working in the area of UV LED’s.

Non Linear Physics Centre (NLPC)
Dr Michael Fraser (RIKEN Institute, Japan) has returned for a three week visit with NLPC.

Prof Hoe Tan will be absent 3-7 August 2015.  Assoc Prof Lan Fu will be Acting HoD during this period.

Facilities & Services
Ms Lyndell Paseka will be on leave 27 July - 28 August 2015.  Mr Ben Parker will be assisting during this period.

 

The RSPE community celebrates with Professor Chennupati Jagadish on 25 years of service at Electronic Materials Engineering and RSPE.

Building maintenance

These can include leaking toilets and taps, leaking roofs, heating not operating correctly or any other general maintenance issues. Please submit a job request via a Technical services work request and we will endeavour to have the problem rectified
