To celebrate their achievements, we will be holding a morning tea in the foyer of the new building at 10.15am on Thursday 14th July. All are welcome!
Last Thursday the DVC(RI), Prof Keith Nugent, signed a partnership agreement with ANSTO. Present at the signing were representative members from across the ANU community who use ANSTO facilities. The delegates later toured the new building and then the Heavy Ion Accelerator facilities, see photo below, L-R: me, Dr Ed Simpson (NPAA), Dr Ankie Larsson (DMP), Prof Ute Roessner (Director Research Initiatives and Infrastructure ODVC(RI)), Dr Richard Garrett (ANSTO), Prof Andrew Stuchbery (NPAA), Prof Lilia Ferrario (MSI), Dr Andrew Peele (ANSTO), Prof Nanda Dasgupta (NPAA), Prof Patrick Kluth (DMP), (credit: Dale Holland).
My thanks to Julie Arnold and Nikki Azzopardi for organising the milestone celebration last Friday. As more and more of the building comes online we’ll hold similar events. At this stage every card holder in Physics should have general access to the new building and be able to book meeting rooms, including the auditorium. The level 4 meeting rooms are still being finished and I’m hoping we’ll have them before the end of the month (maybe a celebration this time on the terrace). The picture above shows people enjoying the event, including the Dean, Prof Kiaran Kirk, see on the left talking with Prof Ken Baldwin.
Have a good week, Tim |
