Director's Message
Dear Colleagues,
By all accounts the AIP Careers event was a great success on Wednesday evening and my many thanks go to the companies who contributed and to Prof Cedric Simenel (Head FTP) for pulling it together so well (his images above).
The graphic below is part of a trial being run in Physics to provide a quick path to hazard identification. Soon in every lab or workspace you’ll find these QR Codes, which take you either to Figtree to report an incident, or to a web-form to report a hazard. The web-form goes to our WHS team who will discern if the request is actioned by facilities, WHS, security or other relevant team. You will receive a receipt. The hazards QR code should reduce the friction in reporting hazards through Figtree. Incidents are still to be submitted via Figtree as a matter of priority. We’ll run this trial for 3 months and then evaluate. Please pass feedback to our WHS Team.
I hope you have a great weekend. (I'm heading straight to get my fix of Utopia.) Tim |
